Well, it has been a rough day for many. My sister informed me last night that a friend of ours was not doing to well and I have been keeping close tabs on each and all updates on FB and Twitter all morning.
After a year long fight with Leukemia, a dear friend of mine, Ronnie Balfour, has gone to claim victory with the Lord. Ronnie was a championship wrestler at my highschool and went on to wrestle at Oklahoma University. He was a fantastic athlete but an amazing friend.
Sometimes you do not realize what an impact someone is until they start slipping away from you. Ronnie has the entire community behind him and I'm sure that is not even half of it. He was the life of the party and brought a smile to everyone's face.
Funny story: He was in love with my sister for quite a while and would always mess with me to talk him up to her so one night we were at a party and he pulled my cooler seat out from under me as a joke, not funny. So I was like, "nope, that's it, you will never get in with Sarah after that little stunt you just pulled." Needless to say he was definately a suck up for a while after that but I knew he was a great guy and my sister and he ended up dating for a short period of time but never lost touch regardless.

Ronnie will always have a special place in our hearts and will be so missed but we know that his pain is gone and he is now free to Rest in Paradise.
You will never be forgotten Ronnie and will always be loved by so many.
